Modelpocket.com - Social networking site aimed at the modeling industry, and was launched on Wednesday 11th November 2009.

Models, photographers, make-up artists, designers, and stylists can all be found on the site, making it a fantastic place to go if you’re interested in the industry. And it’s not just limited to those types of people- Anyone can register, and it’s totally FREE.

Site statistics

Since the launch only 2 days ago (At the time of writing this article), modelpocket has picked up a staggering 10,783 hits, and 245 new registrations,- Quite incredible for a newly formed website that’s not even hit the search engines yet!

Why join modelpocket?

Modelpocket was developed after an increasing number of models and photographers had their accounts deleted from the popular social networking site; Facebook. Content was removed, and accounts disabled by Facebook after they found unsuitable content on member profiles.

Facebook TOS (Terms of service) state that no nudity is allowed on the site whatsoever. However, due to the industry relying greatly on exposure of models bodies, sometimes in full- Many people have been looking for an alternative place to share their media and promote their online portfolio’s- Modelpocket.com offers them just that!

The look

The Modelpocket design is inspired from Facebook, since the targeted members are familiar with the navigational system on Facebook, and most know it inside out, hence why we felt this was the route to go down.
